Travertino Romano: New from Oikos

One of the challenges of being in the decorative painting business is finding the newest and best products the industry has to offer. After spending two weeks in Italy, Kathy Carroll was delighted to welcome Elias Benaloun to the Chicago Institute of Fine Finishes.

Elias and Kathy worked together on a variety of new samples made with Oikos VOC-Free products. One of the favorites was this beautiful faux stone made from Oikos newest product, Travertino Romano.

This antique stone finish is formulated using derivatives of marble stone, transformed into dust and emulisfied with special binders. It is a thick coating that takes on the appearance of cut stone with an easy to apply coating. With the suitable protective coating, Travertino Romano can be used to create the beauty of a stone floor.

Travertino Romano guarantees a high level of vapour permeability, is water repellent and prevents the formation of mold and algae, making it suitable for bathrooms and swimming areas.

Exterior surfaces can also benefit from Travertino Romano, and Oikos recommends it as ideal for historical building facades, and exteriors where there is history and architecture that should be given added value.
