Our webmaster went crazy for this great, beautiful finish created during our recent Open House. The colors make it complementary to many homes, and the design is updated without being overdone.
Thanks to Jennifer Rebecca Designs for their help during the Open House!
Products used on this sample: Pro Faux Sandstone Roll-on, Adicolor Stone FX, Perfetto Glaze, Adicolor ColorAll Driftwood Tint, Perfetto Umber Colorant.
Steps:
- Roll on Pro Faux Standstone Roll-on tinted to grout color (taupe in this sample). Allow to dry completely.
- Tape wall with 1/4" grout tape. Tape all one direction first and then the other. This will make removal much easier.
- Apply Adicolor Stone FX or Pro Faux Quartzite with a trowel creating peaks. Knock down peaks. Let texture dry completely. Option: Create a raised stencil pattern in the tiles. Dry.
- Glaze with desired color. Let glaze dry completely.
- Remove tape.
- Using tint and water, create shadow effects around tiles.
- If desired, topcoat with Dead Flat DFV or Zero Gloss varnish for added durability.
